POSITION SUMMARY

GENERAL SUMMARY

Performs manual and machine operator tasks related to bindery operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for cutting, folding, collating, stitching, and binding various jobs in the Bindery. Catches completed printed product at the end of the binding equipment and stacks product on skid or table.
• Sets up and operates punches to drill holes in paper using a power drill.
• Responsible for operating the corner-rounder machine for various printed jobs.
• Performance manual padding procedures using a paintbrush.
• Operates the drill, shrink-wrapper, trimmer, punch, and laminator machines as needed.
• Completes hand collating and other manual tasks in the Bindery as needed.
• Keeps machinery and surrounding work area clean and orderly.
• Responsible for operating machinery and equipment in a safe manner. Complies with OSHA and MiOSHA safety standards and requirements. Attends safety training classes as needed.
• Performs other duties as requested.

• Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office programs)
• Basic printing knowledge; preferably in a manufacturing environment, preferred

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED

• None

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED OR PREFERRED

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of printing/Bindery experience
• 2-3 years of Bindery equipment operation experience, preferred
• Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training for electronic skid jack use
